Have you ever lost sight of them? It’s probably the worst nightmare for all dog owners. Whether they run away, get lost, or even get stolen, you’re surely going to do everything in your power to find them!
Just keeping an eye on them often isn’t enough. To constantly keep an eye on them, there’s a simple but effective solution: the dog GPS tracker. With its combination of technologies, Minitailz meets the needs of owners in terms of location.
How does a dog GPS tracker work? #
Dog GPS trackers work like the trackers you already know. They emit a signal received by a receiver that determines the location of an object or person.
For Minitailz, the GPS tracker works in the same way. The small box attached to your dog’s collar will receive the GPS signal. It then sends it to your smartphone via the Invoxia Petcare app. From there, you have access to a map that allows you to precisely locate where they are.
What technology is present in my dog GPS? #
With Minitailz, we’ve chosen to give owners all the possible means to find their pet. Our GPS tracker therefore operates with 2 distinct but complementary technologies: the LTE-M network and Bluetooth. Thanks to this combination, Minitailz offers high GPS accuracy and unlimited distance.
When you are close enough to your dog, your smartphone can use Bluetooth connectivity. This is ideal for calculating a route during a walk while saving battery. However, if they are more adventurous or tend to run away, this technology will no longer be effective. Indeed, its range is only about ten meters.
That’s why we’ve paired it with LTE-M technology. The small box, attached to your dog’s collar, will scan the Wi-Fi networks around it. Then, it calculates its GPS position using GPS satellites to establish its location.
The combination of these two technologies makes Minitailz a true dog GPS tracker, accurate and reliable under any circumstances. Thanks to these networks, you benefit from optimal coverage, while ensuring long battery life.
What’s the difference between an Airtag and a dog GPS? #
The difference between an Airtag and a dog tracker lies in the technology. While Minitailz uses different technologies to locate it, this is not the case with the Airtag. It only works in an Apple environment. This means it will only be able to determine a GPS position if it is surrounded by nearby Apple devices.
The Airtag can therefore be useful in city centers. However, it will be very limited compared to a dog GPS tracker in other places.
What are the GPS features of Minitailz? #
To offer you the most complete dog GPS collar, Invoxia has thought of everything! Thanks to its different technologies, our dog tracker offers you complete GPS tracking.
In addition, there are 3 essential features for any dog GPS tracker:
- Live Tracking: in case of emergency, you can activate Live Tracking for real-time tracking of your dog. If they run away, real-time tracking starts with a single click and lasts for 30 minutes.
- Virtual fences: to ensure that your dog stays in a zone, you can add virtual fences. Each time they enter and/or leave a zone, you will be immediately alerted on your smartphone. You can activate as many zones as you wish.
- Proximity radar: does your dog like to play hide and seek? Then this is an essential feature. When you know they are close but you can’t see them, activate nearby location to easily find them. By activating “Locate Nearby”, a ringtone and an LED light are activated to help you in your search.
With all these GPS features, tracking your dog’s position has never been easier!

Your dog is your most loyal companion, Minitailz is theirs!
One of the best connected collars I’ve tested. It draws very precise maps of where I walk with my dog, even alerting me within 30 seconds of leaving the house that my dog has “gone for a walk”. It’s very impressive, especially considering that I live in a rural environment in Belgium!
