For the first attempt, I received a movement alert on my phone and went to check right away. It was in broad daylight, so I wasn’t worried. When I arrived near my bike, I saw someone trying to break the lock with bolt cutters. He ran away and I never saw him again.
You mentioned a “first attempt”, which suggests there were more? #
Exactly. The second attempt happened during the night. I received a notification saying my bike was moving and when I went to check, it was gone. I followed the tracker signal and it ended up in a residence about 2 kilometers away from where I was.
How did you react this time? #
I contacted the police and explained that I had your tracker (I even did a bit of promotion because they didn’t know such a thing existed). Then I went to the residence, alerted the building concierge and searched using the tracker’s Bluetooth mode.
In the end, were you able to recover your bike safely? #
When I found the apartment, I rang the doorbell. The thief said he didn’t have the bike, so I made the tracker ring. He had no other choice but to give my bike back without causing any trouble.
