It’s a small step for Invoxia, but a giant leap for animal health. Our GPS and health tracker for dogs, marketed since January 2024 under the name Minitailz, is evolving. And this evolution comes with a new name: the Minitailz Biotracker GPS. Why this new name and what can we expect from this new development? The answer in this article!
Minitailz Biotracker GPS: A Name More Suited to Its Capabilities #
While Minitailz is a thoughtful and friendly name, recalling both the animal side - “tail” which means tail in English - and our expertise in AI, it is no longer descriptive enough for the product Invoxia offers today.
The use of the word “Biotracker”, which has become quite common in human medicine, adds a layer to our project: revolutionizing animal health. Indeed, the Minitailz is not just a simple dog tracker, but a true biotracker that allows you to keep a keen eye on their health and general well-being.
An Evolution That Comes with New Features #
Of course, Minitailz evolves into Biotracker GPS, but it’s not just its name that changes! This (r)evolution comes with a whole host of new features that allow dog owners to go even further in monitoring their four-legged companion.
Health Alert: An Effective Prevention Tool #
One of the first features, which has been available for several weeks for all Minitailz Biotracker GPS users, is the health alert.
Thanks to it, the owner receives an email and an alert in their app indicating that the recorded health data is outside the norm for their dog.
Sometimes, these health alerts can come from simple temporary changes. We have notably recorded a generalized increase in respiratory rate during the heatwaves of recent days. These increases, of course, triggered alerts, which, without stressing the owner, simply indicate a change.
In other cases, it may be a real signal of discomfort or illness. These alerts have notably allowed several owners to detect pulmonary edema in time, thus saving their dog’s life by acting promptly.
On-Demand Heart and Respiratory Rate Measurements #
Until now, the Minitailz calculated the dog’s heart and respiratory rates periodically during rest periods. With the Minitailz Biotracker GPS, it is now possible to take these measurements on demand.
Why is this interesting?
While resting heart and respiratory data can detect Afib - or atrial fibrillation, which is a common arrhythmia in dogs - or other types of diseases, they are not sufficient for a 360° health monitoring of your dog.
With on-demand data, you are now able to measure these data whenever you want. This feature is really interesting for dog owners. It allows, for example, to:
- Know if a senior dog is in condition to go for a walk
- Monitor the recovery of their dog after exercise
- Have data when the dog shows other visible symptoms.
Distances and Calories #
Because we want to go even further in monitoring overall well-being, the Minitailz Biotracker GPS will also integrate the measurement of distances and calories.
Thanks to this new data, you will now be able to adapt activities according to your dog’s needs. And your dog will thank you!
