The Invoxia Biotracker connector lets ChatGPT read the data from your dog’s Biotracker collar: sleep, heart rate, breathing, activity, walks, location and weather. You add it as a plugin from chatgpt.com, in a few minutes and without a single line of code. Then just type “@Invoxia Biotracker how did Rex sleep last night?” and ChatGPT fetches the answer from the collar. This guide walks you through every screen, from creating the plugin to your first question.
What is the Invoxia Biotracker connector? #
The Invoxia Biotracker connector makes the measurements from your dog’s Biotracker collar available to ChatGPT through the MCP protocol (Model Context Protocol), the standard that lets an AI plug into external data sources. In ChatGPT, an MCP server like Invoxia Biotracker takes the form of a plugin.
ChatGPT can then look up:
- your dog’s sleep (duration, score, previous nights);
- their heart rate and respiratory rate at rest, as well as their heart rate variability (relaxation);
- their activity for the day, time slot by time slot, and what they are doing right now;
- their walks: duration, distance, calories, and the satellite map with the GPS track;
- the location and weather at the time of an outing;
- a comparison with dogs of the same breed and age.
The connector only reads: it changes nothing in your Invoxia account and only has access to the dog you choose when you sign in.
What you need #
- Your Invoxia account: the email address and password of the Invoxia app, the one where you follow your dog’s collar.
- ChatGPT in your browser, on chatgpt.com. You only set it up once; the plugin is then tied to your ChatGPT account.
- The connector address:
https://dogchat.invoxia.ai/mcp
Which ChatGPT plan do you need? #
The Invoxia Biotracker connector works with ChatGPT’s Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu plans. On the Business plan, only workspace admins and owners can add a custom MCP server; there is no Developer mode to turn on. If the “Add custom MCP server” option does not appear for you, your plan or your role does not allow it: you can then use the Invoxia Biotracker connector in Claude, whose Free plan accepts one custom connector.
Step 1: Open Plugins › Add #
Go to chatgpt.com/plugins (or click the Plugins icon in the sidebar). Click Add at the top right, then Add custom MCP server.
Step 2: Describe the server #
Fill in the form:
- Name:
Invoxia Biotracker - Description (optional): “My dog’s collar data”
- Connection: keep Server URL selected and paste
https://dogchat.invoxia.ai/mcp - Authentication: keep OAuth
The icon is optional (PNG, 10 KB max). No need to open “Advanced OAuth settings”: ChatGPT picks the right registration mode on its own.
Step 3: Accept the warning and create the plugin #
Under the “Custom MCP servers introduce risk.” warning, check I understand and want to continue, then click Create as a plugin.
Step 4: Connect the plugin #
ChatGPT immediately opens the “Connect Invoxia Biotracker” window. Click Connect Invoxia Biotracker. On a company account, the window says “Approved by your admin”.
Step 5: Sign in with your Invoxia account #
On the Invoxia sign-in page (labs.invoxia.io, “Invoxia Administration” banner), enter the email address and password of your Invoxia app, then click Next.
You type your password at Invoxia, never in ChatGPT. If you are already signed in to your Invoxia account in this browser, this page is skipped.
Step 6: Allow access #
The “Profile connection” page lists what ChatGPT will be able to read, read-only: pet info and activity, collar, account, location history. Click Continue with biotrack.
“biotrack” is the name of the Invoxia access used by the Invoxia Biotracker connector: that is expected. At the top right, check that the account shown after “Signed in as” is yours.
Step 7: Choose the dog #
If your account has several dogs, the “Which dog?” page appears: click the one ChatGPT will be able to ask about. With one dog, this page is skipped.
ChatGPT then takes you back to the Plugins page. Invoxia Biotracker now appears there in the Personal tab, under “Created by you”.
Step 8: Switch to Work mode #
On the ChatGPT home page, switch from Chat to Work at the top of the screen.
Step 9: Call Invoxia Biotracker with @ #
In the message box, type @, pick Invoxia Biotracker in the list, then write your question. Typing the first letters after @ filters the list. Invoxia Biotracker is also offered by @ in Chat mode.
That’s it: ChatGPT queries the collar and answers you, stating which period the data covers.
What can you ask ChatGPT about your dog? #
Call your dog by name, starting your message with @Invoxia Biotracker. A few examples:
- “How did Rex sleep last night?”: sleep duration and score, compared with previous nights.
- “What is Rex doing right now?”: the latest minutes received from the collar.
- “Show me the map of this morning’s walk.”: satellite map with the GPS track.
- “Is his resting heart rate stable this month?”: history and trend.
- “Did he walk more this week than last week?”: activity compared week over week.
- “How does he compare with dogs of his breed and age?”: comparison with his “buddies”.
You can also ask it to cross-reference the information, for example to sum up your dog’s week before a vet appointment. To understand the indicators it mentions, see our guide to monitoring your dog’s heart health at home.
Is your data safe? #
- Read-only: the connector cannot change anything in your Invoxia account.
- One dog only: the connector only accesses the dog chosen when you sign in.
- Protected password: you type it on the Invoxia page, never in ChatGPT.
- No exact location: the connector never shares precise GPS coordinates, nor the alert thresholds set by your vet.
- You stay in control: you can uninstall the plugin at any time.
ChatGPT’s answers do not replace your vet’s advice: if you have any doubt about your dog’s health, call your vet.
Common problems #
“Add custom MCP server” does not appear. According to OpenAI’s help center, in a Business workspace, only workspace admins and owners can add a custom MCP server: a regular member does not see the option and must ask them to add the plugin. On Enterprise and Edu, the admin can grant this right to selected members.
The sign-in page mentions “biotrack”. That is expected: “biotrack” is the name of the Invoxia access the Invoxia Biotracker connector uses to read the collar.
Sign-in fails or says the account has no dog. Check that you are using the Invoxia account the collar is registered to. The signed-in account is shown at the top right of the authorization page.
I have several dogs: how do I switch? The dog is chosen at sign-in. To ask about another one, uninstall the plugin, add it again and pick the other dog on the “Which dog?” page.
ChatGPT answers without using Invoxia Biotracker. Type @ and pick Invoxia Biotracker at the start of your message, or write “use Invoxia Biotracker to…”.
I’m asked to sign in again. This happens if access was revoked or your Invoxia password changed: restart the plugin sign-in and sign in again.
How do I remove the plugin? In Plugins › Personal, open Invoxia Biotracker, then the … button › Uninstall (or Delete plugin to erase it).
What about the Codex app? According to OpenAI, your account’s plugins are offered there under Sources › Use plugins, depending on your plan. But to talk about your dog, ChatGPT is enough.
ChatGPT’s menus change often. If a label has moved, search the settings for “MCP server” or check OpenAI’s official documentation.
